whats the issue?

Chocolate maker Mars apologised on Sunday for a decision to use animal products in chocolate bars and said in future its candy would be suitable for vegetarians. The company said it was a decision announced last week to change its chocolate recipe to include trace amounts of rennet, a natural enzyme produced from the stomachs of calves which is used in traditional cheese and chocolate making. That recipe change had infuriated vegetarian campaigners. Forty members of parliament signed a protest petition, and the media was bemused. The company did its best to sound contrite. “It became very clear, very quickly, that we had made a mistake, for which I am sorry,” Fiona Dawson, managing director of the Mars snack food business in Britain, said in a statement. “There are 3 million vegetarians in the UK and not only did we disappoint them but we upset lots of other consumers,” she said. They got  more than 6,000 calls and e-mails in the daysSo they would make the chocolates more suitable in the future

who is involved?

The animals, vegatarian people, and normal people, and the makers of “Mars” chocolate bars.

what would i do if i’d be directly involved?

well, there’s not a lot i could do, because they alreaady said sorry, and because they already tested it on the animals. But i would claim about them, because it’s just wrong to test things on animals…

“Renaissance Interview Reflection”

Posted by ivana in Uncategorized

I had to “interview” a renassance person, called Donatello. He is a sculptor. You can see the questions I asked him below.  :)  It was interesting, because firdt, I didn’t know who he was, but after this interview, I do. So it was kind of helpful to me. :) I kind of enjoyed doing this about the renassance people, because I also learned about other people, except for Donatello.

I also learned about King Henry, because You Won had him as her renassance person, and i helped her a bit with her person. I never knew who any of these people were except for a few like: Leonardo Da Vinci, William Shakespear, Marco polo, and some others. So I think it’s nice to do some of these things so I can learn more about people I didn’t know:)

When and where are you born?

If you must know, I was born in Florence, Italy, in 1386.

What special skills or talents do you have, and how did you get them?

I am a sculptor, and my technique is still used by sculptors today.

What are your most famous works/deeds?

My most famous work would be David, I guess. However, I have some other famous sculptures:
- St. peter
- St. mark
- St. George
- The dragon
- St. John
- The evangelist
- Magdalen
- The angel with the Tambourine

How did your work change the way people lived in the renaissance?
- people adored my sculptures, and so they learned how to appreciate art.

What impact do you think your work will have on the future?
- people will appreciate art more, and they will appreciate artists from now, this time. Because I know some artists have beautiful work.

So is it true that you are considered one of the greatest sculptors of all time?
- yes that is true. However, I dont really think Im that good, but it does give me a good feeling that I know that people appreciate my work. Especially my masterpiece called David .
